There’s been a fire! In this hands-on workshop, your job is to figure out where the fire started, and how! The Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI), part of UL Research Institutes, specifically addresses fire safety risks and emerging dangers. Additionally, ULRI is committed to educating the future of safety science with their free platform – xplorlabs.org. In Xplorlabs: Science of Fire Forensics you take on the role of a fire investigator to solve a potential arson case. Participants will experience 3-dimensional STEM instruction that aligns to this pathway in the following ways: Plan and carry out hands-on and virtual investigations that support sense-making about fire behavior. Apply knowledge to investigate and solve the origin of a panoramic kitchen fire.
